Sustainability Departament
The sustainability department of OADL has the major role to support and know the main tools available to develop strategic plans of sustainable development. They also have to study and analyse the existence of sustainability indicators to carry out a follow-up of the fulfilment of ethic, social and environmental objectives as a part of interventions and projects that are executed in the Autonomous Agency for Local Development.
The concept of sustainability follows a new progressive model that answers to the current needs without jeopardizing the future generations. It is an emerging concept whose main objective is to improve the life quality of citizens according to economical, social and environmental sustainability, favouring an economical development compatible with a healthy and quality-like environment and with social participation.
Among the given services there are the following ones:
- Create awareness of a sustainable management in companies and administrations
- Elaborate reports methodologies, studies, diffusion and training material and good practises of sustainability
- Investigate new employment and development opportunities that are sustainable, as for instance in the field of renewable energies and environmental assessment.
- Assess and support Local Bodies and other entities in the elaboration of projects with environmental characteristics.
- Participate in the elaboration of materials and web contents to support training, public awareness and diffusion of good practises in environmental topics.
- Study the role of the Social Corporative Responsibility in the general structure of the entity and in municipalities.
- Take part in the execution of environmental and tourist projects.
Projects
Through agreements with the "Fundaci?n Biodiversidad" (Biodiversity Foundation) we work on topics with a great environmental impact such as renewable energies, offering training for photovoltaic installation technicians and editing awareness material. Through sustainability and corporative Responsibility observatory we give online training to businessmen from the province of Caceres in order to get a good business management introducing good social, economical and environmental practises.
With Tourism and Tourism Products Dynamisation plans we are restoring particular buildings, creating thus sustainable tourism products, employment and wealth for the municipalities of the province, always with a long-term and social impact viability perspective in the receptive areas where the plans are applied
